Locked-in Laundry?
Possible Reasons Are:

Power blackout, which leads to an interruption of the washing cycle
Blocked discharge pump, by which the water could not be pumped out of the machine
Broken machine in general
Interruption of the washing cycle through another user
A Miele machine was started without prior reservation

Using the Emergency Release of the Machine

Please do that according to the process in the handbook of the respective machine (in most cases available for free in the internet).

As an example, you can find two pictures with the necessary steps for a Bosch and a Miele machine attached.

Warnings:

Danger of scalding! When chosing a program with hot temperature, touching the hot steep and laundry can harm you fisically and cause injuries. Please let the liquid cool down first.

Danger of injury! Do not grasp into a turning washing drum. Please wait until the washing machine stands still. A turning machine drum might injure your hands.

Water damage! Leaking water can cause water damage. Do not open the main door if the drum is filled with water.

Proceed as follows:

1. Make sure that the machine is turned off

2. Clean the discharge pump
- Open the lid and take it off.
- Losen the hose.
- Take off the sealing cap and release the steep into a jar.
- When empty, seal the hose with the cap once again and attach it back to the bracket.
- Screw off the main lid carefully to release the residual water.
- Clean the internal space and the main lid of the pump.
- The impeller wheel should be turned easily.
- Attach the main lid once again to a vertical position.
3. Emergency release
- Push the emergency release down with a tool and release it.
- You can open the door afterwards.
- Open the door: Please make sure that the washing machine stands still. You might injure yourself severly by grasping into a turning machine.

2. Clean the discharge pump.
- Release the main lid completely.
- Clean the steep filter and its internal space properly. Eventually you need to remove foreign objects like coins, buttons, etc. The impeling wheel should be turned easily.
- Put the main lid back on and tighten it completely.
3. Emergency release
- Push the emergency release down with a tool and release it. You can open the door afterwards.
- Open the door: Please make sure that the washing machine stands still. You might injure yourself severly by grasping into a turning washing machine.
- Optional: Use the exhaust valve to open the door.
- Push the handle to release the water until it stops running.
- Attention: If you do not put in the steep filter and tighten it up, water will be leaking out of the machine.
- Open the door: Please make sure that the washing machine stands still. You might injure yourself severly by grasping into a turning washing machine.
- Pull the emergency release. Use a tool such as a spoon. The main door will open up.
